Confessions of a Shoe Seller - Meet the team; Amazing Alison

I am a very nosy person - I am the type who peeks in places that I am not supposed to, gets distracted from what I am doing if someone near me is having an interesting conversation and I love to know all about people that I meet.
I wonder if any of you are the same? If you are I thought you may like a bit of an insight into the lovely staff that work along side mum and I at Finale. To start us off I interviewed (or they may say interrogated!) Alison and asked her some very important questions.
How long have you worked for Finale?
2 years
What is your favourite food?
Italian is my favourite but it must come with a good glass of Prosecco for me to really enjoy it!
What is the first thing you do when you get to work on a morning?
Check to see if any new styles in shoes or handbags have arrived in the shop, very closely followed by a cup of coffee, or maybe it’s sometimes the other way round if I am honest and the boss isn't listening.
Which of our brands in Finale is your favourite and why?
Paul Green - I love the style of their shoes and they are super comfortable. I can pop them on on a morning and be on my feet all day without a thought - until someone asks me where my shoes are from.
What is your favourite thing about Northumberland?
It has to be the beautiful countryside and scenery for me, I love Corbridge which is where I live and also Bamburgh and Craster too.
If you had to pick only two pairs of shoes/sandals for the whole season what would they be and why?
My navy Paul Green lace up’s that I have been wearing nearly every day, they are a great on trend style but the inbuilt instep means they are very comfortable and I love how many customers have purchased them after seeing me wearing them. I also love the Italian styling on the CD Tan sandal, this will be my go-to shoe for any evening’s out or special events I will be going to over the next few months. One flat style and one heeled style - perfect combination!
What advice would you give to your teenage self now?
What’s with the therapy question? Haha I would tell myself to be kinder and less critical to myself and I would think that I wouldn't take any notice as when we are teenagers we always think we know it all don’t we?
What’s the hardest/worst bit about working for Finale?
This is a very predictable answer I think but It’s having some salary left at the end of the month! Working in Finale we are surrounded by things most ladies love - shoes and handbags and I am no different. I also see customers with lots of other nice things from shops in the village so it really is hard to restrain my shopping habits.
Where is your top place to go on holiday?
I loved Venice and I would love to go back again and see the things I missed, it really is a gorgeous destination.
If you didn’t sell shoes what do you think you would be doing as a job?
I am very interested in design especially interior design and Architecture so I may have done something like that, I also love perfume so a perfumer would have been a dream job for me.
Over the next few weeks all of our lovely team will get the same treatment so if you enjoyed reading this one watch this space…
Lots of love
